1. General Library Policies
Book Selection & Issuance:

Subscribers can borrow books based on their chosen subscription plan.

Based on your preferences as mentioned in the form you have submitted, we will also provide personalized recommendations to you which you may want to go with.

Books will be delivered to your registered address and must be returned within the stipulated time.

All books are issued for a period of 30 days. One extension of another 30 days can be given, without any charges ,based on availability, if you do not finish reading within the initial 30 days given. Extension beyond 60 days may incur charges @10% of book’s MRP for every week of delay.

However, if you finish reading earlier, you may exchange the books with another set of books but only after a period of at least 15 days from the date of receipt of the books.

While all efforts will be made by us to send you books that you want, in certain cases, it may happen that all the copies of that particular title are already in circulation. In such a case / cases, that particular title will be sent to you in the next cycle and in lieu of the same another title of your choice will be supplied to you.
Returns & Pickup:

Books must be returned on or before the due date. A delay beyond the grace period (if any) may attract a late fee.

If you require a pickup for returns, kindly schedule it at least 2 days in advance via Whatsapp or Instagram
Book Condition at Issuance:

Every book is inspected before dispatch to ensure it is in good condition.

Any minor wear and tear will be noted in our records.
2. Handling & Care Guidelines
To ensure all readers receive books in good condition, please follow these best practices:
Do’s:
Keep books in a clean, dry place, away from moisture and food.
Use a bookmark instead of folding pages.
Handle books with clean hands to avoid stains.
Don’ts:
Do not write, underline, or highlight in the books.
Avoid dog-earing pages or bending the book spine excessively.
Keep books away from liquids, pets, and direct sunlight to prevent damage.
3. What Constitutes a Damage?
A book will be considered damaged if it is returned in a condition significantly different from when it was issued. Examples include:
Minor Damages (No Fine, but Noted for Future)

Slight creases or minor wear and tear from regular reading.
Chargeable Damages
Type of Damage Fine/Charge
Torn pages ₹300 or 50% of book price (whichever is higher)
Missing pages ₹300 or 50% of book price (whichever is higher)
Water damage, stains, or food spills ₹300 or 50% of book price (whichever is higher)
Writing/highlighting in book ₹300 or 50% of book price (whichever is higher)
Spine damage making the book unreadable 75% of book price
Book lost or completely damaged Full book price
Note: If a book is reported lost or irreparably damaged, the subscriber will be charged the full book price, and their borrowing privileges may be temporarily suspended until payment is made.
4. Subscription & Renewal Guidelines

If books are not returned within the stipulated period, auto-renewal may be paused until overdue books are returned or the fine is cleared.
5. Break
Based on your request, a break may be allowed under our annual plans. A one month break, up to two times during the twelve month period, may be allowed to every subscriber. This is just to accommodate for periods when you are travelling or you are having excess work loads or your kids or having their exams and so on. A mail from your email id registered with us will be required to avail such a break. For anyone opting for such breaks, the tenure of the subscription plan will automatically be extended by the period of break. For example, if someone opts for a one month break, the twelve month plan will be extended by one month.
6. Late Return Policy

Continuous delays may lead to temporary or permanent suspension of the account.
7. Additional Terms & Conditions

"Booked" reserves the right to update these policies as necessary. Any changes will be communicated in advance.

Failure to adhere to these policies may result in suspension or termination of subscription services.
